One UI 8.5 is getting closer to release, and Samsung has now confirmed that a full device rollout plan will arrive “later”. The update will include a wide range of Galaxy AI features and system upgrades.
The announcement comes after criticism from users who claimed Samsung was limiting new features to upcoming devices like the Samsung Galaxy S26. Many users felt older phones were being left behind.
Samsung has now pushed back on that idea. The company says most of the new features, including Galaxy AI tools, will also come to older devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 once One UI 8.5 rolls out.
However, Samsung has not confirmed exactly which models will get the update first. It also has not shared a clear release schedule yet. The company only said that a detailed rollout plan will be shared at a later time.
The Galaxy S25 series has already been testing One UI 8.5 since December 2025. The beta program has gone through multiple updates, with reports suggesting it may be close to its final stage.
At the same time, Galaxy S25 devices running One UI 8.0 recently received the April 2026 security patch. This suggests the stable version of One UI 8.5 is still not ready for release this month.
Industry expectations now point to a possible rollout in late April or early May. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed the timeline.
Once launched, the update is expected to roll out in stages. It will first reach flagship phones, followed by foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, and later expand to more Galaxy devices depending on region and model.
