Nothing has officially announced that the Phone (3a) series will launch on March 4 at 10 AM GMT. The lineup is expected to include two models, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, with significant camera upgrades and improved hardware.
One of the biggest highlights is the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro’s camera system, which includes a 50MP “Shake Free” OIS main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP front camera. The periscope camera will offer 6x in-sensor zoom and an impressive 60x “ultra” zoom, with a 70mm focal length for detailed close-ups.
The main camera on the Nothing Phone (3a) series also gets an upgrade with a larger 50MP sensor. Nothing claims it captures 64% more light and has a 300% higher full well capacity compared to its predecessor, the Phone (2a). A recent video even shows the Phone (3a) Pro competing against the iPhone 16 Pro Max in a London camera shootout.
Both models will feature Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 3.0, which enhances images using AI tone mapping and scene detection for professional-quality photos. All four cameras on the Phone (3a) series will support Ultra HDR, while the main and front cameras will offer 4K video recording with improved stabilization and night mode.
Aside from cameras, the Nothing Phone (3a) series will pack a Snapdragon 7S Gen 3 chipset, a 6.72-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, IP64 dust and splash resistance, and a 5,000mAh battery. The standard Phone (3a) is expected to feature a 2x zoom camera, while the Pro model will boast the 3x periscope telephoto lens.
With significant camera and hardware upgrades, the Nothing Phone (3a) series aims to challenge top smartphone brands when it officially launches in March.
