Sean Murray, the creator of No Man’s Sky, recently sparked some online banter after offering a lighthearted commentary on GTA 6’s trailer.
Following the trailer’s release, Murray humorously questioned whether Rockstar’s attention to detail—such as the cyclist wearing flip-flops while pedaling—was the real reason behind the game’s delay.
Murray’s joke came after many industry professionals praised GTA 6 for its high level of realism, including everything from the beer bubbles to realistic cloth physics.
However, it was the cyclist’s unusual pedaling that caught Murray’s eye. He shared his observation with the tweet: “Is this why they delayed it?”, zooming in on the cyclist’s seemingly odd stance.
Some fans pointed out that this could be an intentional feature, referencing the real-life quirks of Florida, the state that inspires GTA 6’s fictional setting of Leonida. Despite the positive response, others saw Murray’s remark as a subtle jab at Rockstar, claiming the flip-flop glitch was a bug or clipping issue.
While Murray’s comment seemed to praise Rockstar’s attention to detail, the online community quickly shifted focus to his own upcoming game, Light No Fire.
Some fans, frustrated by the lack of updates on Light No Fire since its reveal in late 2023, called Murray out for criticizing GTA 6 when his own game has seen minimal progress reports. One user commented, “You seriously can’t be the one talking,” referring to the lengthy silence surrounding Light No Fire.
Light No Fire, developed by Murray’s Hello Games, has been met with limited updates since its announcement. While the game hasn’t been delayed, players are growing impatient, especially after Murray’s lighthearted jab at Rockstar, leading to mixed reactions from fans who are eager for more news on Light No Fire.
