Samsung may not make big changes to the main camera of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to a new rumor. The company might keep using the HP2 camera sensor, which is already used in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, and S25 Ultra.
The leak comes from a source named @PandaFlashPro, who says Samsung is testing different versions of the S26 Ultra. One version uses the same HP2 sensor, but with a new lens and updated pixel design.
The lens could include variable aperture technology. This means the lens can adjust to let in more or less light based on the environment. This feature could help the camera take better photos in different lighting conditions.
There is no detailed information about the new pixel arrangement yet. Also, it is still unclear if these changes will lead to better image quality, as the updated camera setup has not been tested.
Some earlier rumors said the Galaxy S26 Ultra might come with only three rear cameras instead of four. Removing one camera could give space for a larger battery.
As of now, there is no sign that Samsung will release an Exynos version of the S26 Ultra. All test models are using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “Elite” chip, along with different storage options.
In short, Samsung may focus on small camera changes in the Galaxy S26 Ultra instead of major hardware upgrades.
