Rapper Nicki Minaj and former NFL star Dez Bryant engaged in a fiery argument on X, sparked by Bryant’s comments about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The dispute quickly drew attention from fans and the media.
The conflict started on August 3, 2025, when Bryant warned Jones, “JERRY JONES I DONT THINK ITS SMART TO MENTION MY NAME. I KEPT QUIET ABOUT A LOT OF UNFAIR SHIT.. WE CAN HAVE STORY TIME IF THATS WHAT WE ARE DOING.” Jones had referenced Bryant’s 2015 contract talks during a discussion about player negotiations.
Minaj, who has a longstanding feud with Roc Nation and Jay-Z, replied with a tweet challenging Bryant: “Every time you do a ‘Jerry Jones’ or ‘NFL’ story time, I’ll do a ‘story time’ of my own,” targeting Roc Nation, Jay-Z, and CEO Desiree Perez.
Bryant initially tried to calm the situation, posting a video saying, “Look Miss Nicki, leave me out of it. I don’t want no problems. I’m a huge fan.” However, Minaj escalated the feud by referencing Bryant’s 2012 arrest involving his mother. Bryant denied the allegations and defended himself, also bringing up Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender.
The feud intensified when Minaj offered Bryant $10 million to fight Petty. Bryant responded confidently, “Go get that 10 million in cash.. I’ll stomp that na out right in front of you.. and it’s ROC for life bh.” Minaj also shared a fan’s claim about Bryant’s father, which Bryant denied.
Bryant later apologized to his fans, saying, “I let the devil win that time… I apologize to the kids who follow me because I care about setting the right example.” Minaj has not responded since.
The exchange sparked widespread discussion online. Social media analytics show that 68% of posts about the feud on August 4, 2025, favored Bryant’s responses.
