Finn Little in 'Yellowstone'

New Yellowstone Series Welcomes Back Fan Favorite Carter

Actor Finn Little will reprise his role as Carter in the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff centered on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. Little joins returning stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who are reprising their roles in the latest project from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan for Paramount+.

The new, yet-to-be-titled series is expected to continue in the present-day timeline, making it the most directly connected spinoff to the original Yellowstone series. While plot details remain under wraps, the show will follow Beth and Rip as they navigate their lives beyond the Dutton ranch, now accompanied once again by Carter, the troubled teen they took under their wing.

Little first appeared as Carter in the fourth season of Yellowstone, playing a young boy who lost his father to drug addiction. He met Beth while both were visiting family in the hospital and later came to live and work on the Dutton ranch under Beth and Rip’s care. Although Beth, unable to have children, was reluctant to act as a mother, the couple formed a meaningful bond with Carter throughout the series.

The original Yellowstone series, co-created by Sheridan and John Linson, concluded its run with major characters set up for future stories. The franchise has since expanded with several prequels and spinoffs, including 1883 and 1923, both of which have wrapped. Additional projects in development include The Madison starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Y: Marshals with Luke Grimes, and previously announced series 1944 and 6666.

Paramount+ declined to comment on the casting or story direction of the new series.

Finn Little, originally from Australia, has appeared in The Surfer (2024) opposite Nicolas Cage, and starred in Sheridan’s Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) alongside Angelina Jolie. His other credits include Netflix dramas Reckoning and Tidelands, as well as the film Angel of Mine.
