New Line Cinema is developing another Final Destination film, bringing back Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor to write the script.
The decision follows the huge success of Final Destination: Bloodlines, which was released in May 2025 and earned over $286 million worldwide, including $138.1 million in the U.S. It was the sixth film in the horror franchise and the first since 2011, making it the most successful installment yet.
Taylor co-wrote Bloodlines with Guy Busick from a story by Taylor, Busick, and Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts. Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein directed the film.
The new project will be produced by Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich, with Warren Zide serving as executive producer.
The Final Destination series, launched in 2000, follows characters who escape death after a premonition of a deadly event—only for death to hunt them down one by one.
The franchise has earned more than $983 million worldwide, ranking as New Line’s third-biggest horror series after The Conjuring and It.
Taylor is also known for her work on Bed Rest, Cellar Door, and the upcoming adaptation of The Edge of Normal.
