Netflix has released a teaser for the second season of its live-action One Piece series. The teaser features a promotional image of the Straw Hat Pirates on the Going Merry ship.
The main cast— Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji—will return for the 2026 premiere. The teaser hints at major announcements during One Piece Day on August 10-11, 2025.
Production started in July 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa, and finished in February 2025. The new season will cover story arcs including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. This was confirmed by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.
New cast members include Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, who provides both facial capture and voice for the reindeer doctor, and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, a Baroque Works agent.
Other key additions are Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0 (Crocodile), Lera Abova as Miss Sunday, and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk. The season will introduce more than 30 new characters, including Vivi, Wapol, and Smoker.
Oda, who serves as an executive producer, said the season will have a larger scope with bigger ship sets and snowy landscapes for Drum Island. Like the first season, it will have eight episodes. The season will focus on Chopper’s backstory and the crew’s journey into the Grand Line.
Netflix also confirmed improved visual effects for Chopper’s transformations and the encounter with Laboon. This is in response to fan feedback from Season 1.
