Netflix has announced a new documentary offering fans a final look behind the scenes of Stranger Things, just days after the sci-fi series came to an end.
Titled One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5, the documentary will premiere globally on Netflix on January 12. It will focus on the creation of the show’s fifth and final season, giving viewers an inside look at how the long-running series was brought to its conclusion.
Netflix said the documentary will explore the years of work that went into the final instalment of the Duffer Brothers’ hit series. It follows the cast, creators, and crew as they complete the show that first debuted nearly a decade ago.
The final episode of Stranger Things aired on New Year’s Eve. The two-hour finale marked the end of the story set in Hawkins, Indiana, and drew an emotional response from fans around the world.
The documentary was directed by Martina Radwan, who spent a year on set filming the production of the final season. In a statement, she said documenting the final chapter of the show was a privilege and praised the Duffer Brothers for granting her close access to the process.
The Duffer Brothers said the documentary was inspired by behind-the-scenes films made during the production of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. They added that such detailed production documentaries have become rare and said they wanted to bring that style back for Stranger Things fans.
