BTS has earned another No. 1 hit on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, thanks to a major surge in sales of their 2022 track “Run BTS.” The song jumped back onto the chart and reached the top spot for the first time.
According to Luminate, “Run BTS” sold about 900 copies in the United States during the latest tracking week. This marks an increase of nearly 18,000% compared to the previous period, when the song sold only a few copies.
The sales spike comes as fans celebrate BTS’s upcoming comeback. The group reunited in 2025 after completing mandatory military service, and their label recently confirmed that a new album will be released on March 20. Details about the album title, pre-release singles, and a world tour are expected later this month.
With “Run BTS” reaching No. 1, BTS now holds 42 chart-topping songs on the World Digital Song Sales chart, more than any other act. The song first appeared on the chart in June 2022 and needed several years and 10 total weeks to finally reach the top.
“Run BTS” appears on BTS’s anthology album Proof, released in 2022. The renewed interest in the track also helped Proof rise from No. 10 to No. 9 on the World Albums chart this week, where it has now spent 186 weeks.
Although “Run BTS” was never released as an official single, it debuted at No. 73 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022. Its current success highlights the strong buying power of BTS’s fanbase ahead of the group’s long-awaited return.
