In a stunning achievement, the animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 has surpassed Spider-Man: No Way Home’s global box office earnings in less than a month.
The film, which debuted during the lucrative Chinese New Year period, has now earned over $1.92 billion worldwide. Of that, a staggering $1.89 billion comes from China, where it has become the highest-grossing film of all time.
Ne Zha 2 is on track to surpass $2 billion, positioning itself among the top five highest-grossing films globally, trailing only Avatar, Titanic, Avatar: The Way of Water, Avengers: Endgame, and Avengers: Infinity War. The film’s remarkable success highlights the rise of the Chinese box office as a dominant force in the global market.
Having already overtaken major blockbusters like Jurassic World, Barbie, and Inside Out 2, Ne Zha 2 is now the highest-grossing animated film ever. The movie continues to perform exceptionally well, with projections indicating it will become the second-biggest film of the post-pandemic era.
With a near-perfect 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and rave reviews, Ne Zha 2 is on course to break more records as its global earnings continue to soar.
