Mysterio will return in What If…? Season 3. The show will premiere on Disney+ on December 22, 2024.
The trailer shows Mysterio sitting on a high-tech throne. He connects to many cables. His role is not clear, but Mysterio is known for illusions and tricks. Fans can expect surprises.
Mysterio last appeared in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). In that movie, he lied about being from another universe. In What If…?, Marvel might show a version of him who tells the truth. Or, he might use illusions again to confuse everyone.
It is not clear if Jake Gyllenhaal will return to voice the character. Marvel has not announced anything yet.
Marvel Animation owns the rights to use Spider-Man characters in cartoons. Mysterio’s return could lead to more animated stories with him in the future.
