MrBeast Receives Custom 400 Million Subscriber Play Button from YouTube CEO

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has made YouTube history again, becoming the first individual creator to surpass 400 million subscribers. To mark the occasion, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan presented him with a custom Play Button shaped like MrBeast’s signature tiger logo.

The special award was given on June 1, 2025, when MrBeast officially crossed the 400 million mark. His channel has continued to grow rapidly, now boasting over 417 million subscribers as of July 2025.

The new Play Button continues a tradition of custom awards for major subscriber milestones. MrBeast previously received the Amber Play Button at 200 million and the Emerald Play Button at 300 million. While YouTube has not officially named the 400 million award, fans are already calling it the “Beast Button.”

Social media has exploded with praise, with posts on X describing the moment as “internet history” and “a movement.” Fans celebrated Donaldson’s creativity, philanthropy, and ability to redefine what’s possible on the platform.

However, some critics raised concerns about the sustainability of his high-budget, high-stakes content, which many describe as “dopamine-driven.” Still, his consistent innovation and massive global reach have secured his place as the face of modern YouTube.

Donaldson has not revealed plans for a formal celebration video but thanked fans and YouTube in a tweet:

400,000,000 subscribers. This is absolutely unreal. Thank you for being a part of this journey 💙
