Microsoft is preparing to combine the best features of Xbox and Windows for handheld gaming devices.
Jason Ronald, Microsoft’s Vice President of “Next Generation,” announced this plan during an AMD and Lenovo event titled “The Future of Gaming Handhelds.”
Ronald shared that Microsoft aims to improve the Windows handheld gaming experience by incorporating innovations from Xbox.
He hinted that these changes will happen within 2025, offering players a more console-like experience on handheld PCs.
Ronald explained, “We have spent years building a world-class operating system for consoles. Now, we are focusing on bringing those innovations to Windows and handheld devices.”
Currently, Windows struggles to provide a seamless gaming experience on handhelds. Ronald acknowledged this and said Microsoft is working to simplify the experience, making it more user-friendly and focused on the player’s gaming library.
While specific details remain under wraps, Ronald promised more updates later this year.
This move could significantly impact the handheld gaming market, offering players a blend of Xbox and Windows features in one device.
