Marvel Studios is reportedly planning a fifth chapter in its Netflix era revival, expanding the return of its darker, R‑rated street‑level heroes. The update has sparked excitement among fans of characters like Daredevil, Punisher, and Jessica Jones.
Marvel began revisiting its Netflix catalog in 2025 with Daredevil: Born Again, bringing back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. The series marked Marvel’s first official step toward restoring that gritty corner of the MCU.
The revival is already growing. Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3, making it the MCU’s first ongoing annual live‑action series. Season 2 is expected to debut in March 2026.
Marvel will also release a Punisher Special Presentation, starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. The project will focus entirely on the Punisher and is expected to arrive later in 2026, between major MCU releases.
Season 2 of Born Again will deepen the Netflix ties even further. Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, is confirmed to return, showing that Marvel’s revival is no longer limited to Daredevil alone.
According to a report from industry insider Daniel Richtman, a new Jessica Jones solo series is now in development at Marvel Television. If true, this would represent the fifth major project in Marvel’s Netflix reboot slate.
Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum previously hinted that Jessica Jones could return “sooner than you think,” adding weight to the report. A solo series would allow the character to explore darker themes in a way that fits Marvel’s current street‑level focus.
With multiple seasons of Daredevil, a Punisher special, and a potential Jessica Jones series, Marvel appears fully committed to rebuilding its Netflix corner of the MCU—this time with tighter continuity and long‑term plans.
