Marvel Rivals players got their first look at the new Klyntar: Celestial Husk map, set to debut with the upcoming Season 3 on July 11. Developed by NetEase Games, this hero shooter continues to expand its roster and game world, following the conclusion of Season 2.5 which introduced popular characters like Emma Frost and Ultron.
The Klyntar: Celestial Husk map is located on the homeworld of the villain Knull, the dark god and creator of the symbiotes. The environment embraces a dark and sinister atmosphere, featuring black ooze, eerie surroundings, and iconic items like Knull’s Necrosword.
This marks the second time the Klyntar world appears in Marvel Rivals, with the first map launching alongside the game in December 2024.
Jean Grey’s Debut and Symbiote Skins Highlight Season 3
Alongside the map reveal, NetEase shared new gameplay footage of Jean Grey, the powerful Duelist arriving in Season 3. Wielding the Phoenix Force, Jean Grey delivers devastating ranged attacks to control the battlefield. She also debuts a team-up ability called Primal Flame, which enhances Wolverine’s Feral Leap attack with Phoenix energy, increasing his damage and lifesteal.
Season 3 will also introduce new symbiote-themed cosmetics for several heroes. Players can expect skins for Jeff the Land Shark, Squirrel Girl, and Rocket Raccoon, all embracing the symbiote aesthetic. Additionally, Captain America will launch a new Captain Klyntar skin on July 3, featuring his black symbiote look inspired by the Edge of Venomverse comic series.
Perks for College Students and Growing Community Excitement
NetEase has announced special perks for college students in conjunction with Season 3. By registering their university email after July 11, students will gain access to 10 free trial skins and exclusive MVP animations. The game’s Creative Director noted some university emails might face verification delays but encouraged players to contact support if needed.
