Marvel Rivals Dev Offers Update on Role Queue Feature

Marvel Rivals Game

Marvel Rivals, one of the most popular hero shooters in the gaming community, has been facing a common complaint since its beta period: the lack of a role queue.

Players have voiced concerns about unbalanced team compositions, with some players opting for only certain roles, like Duelists, leaving the team at a disadvantage.

In Marvel Rivals, characters are categorized into roles such as Vanguard (tank), Duelist (damage), and Strategist (support/healer).

However, with heroes like Cloak & Dagger, who can both heal and deal damage, this role system is more flexible than traditional hero shooters.

Despite the demand for a role queue to ensure balanced team compositions, Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen, the game’s creative director, stated that the development team is not currently considering the feature.

He explained that the goal is to offer a variety of team compositions through team-up skills and unique character designs, allowing players to play their favorite Marvel superheroes without being restricted to a single role.

Chen added, “From the data we’re seeing in our back end, things are going pretty solid,” and emphasized that players have been exploring different team compositions in Competitive play, which has met expectations. The team plans to continue monitoring these player-driven compositions to enhance the game.

While the addition of a role queue isn’t off the table for the future, for now, Marvel Rivals will continue without it, offering a more open and flexible gameplay experience.

So, it seems players will have to adapt to the current system and hope for more balanced teams in ranked games.
