Marvel Studios is breaking new ground with its next Disney+ series, Eyes of Wakanda, which will officially launch Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This animated show will make MCU history by going further back in time than any other Disney+ series to date.

After Ironheart ends Phase 5, Eyes of Wakanda will kick off Phase 6 with a prequel story set in 1260 B.C.—the earliest time period ever explored in a Marvel Studios show on Disney+. The series follows Wakandan warriors sent around the world to retrieve lost vibranium artifacts.

The show will feature Noni, a former Dora Milaje warrior and secret agent, voiced by Winnie Harlow, as she tracks a mysterious figure known as the “Lion,” voiced by Cress Williams.

While only the first episode takes place in 1260 B.C., the rest of the season will explore different centuries in Wakanda’s long history, showcasing how its culture and technology evolved over time.

Eyes of Wakanda (Disney+ Show)

Marvel shared these exciting details at the Annecy Animation Festival in France, confirming Eyes of Wakanda will premiere on August 6 on Disney+.

Although the MCU has explored older moments in history in films like Eternals and Guardians of the Galaxy, this is the oldest time setting ever featured in a Disney+ Marvel series.

Other Ancient Moments in the MCU Timeline:

  • 13.8 Billion B.C.Eternals shows the Celestial Arishem creating the universe.
  • 12.8 Billion B.C. – A Celestial uses the Power Stone (Guardians of the Galaxy).
  • 2.5 Million B.C. – Vibranium lands in Wakanda and Talokan (Black Panther).
  • 5000 B.C. – Eternals arrive on Earth to battle Deviants.
  • 2988 B.C. – First battle of Svartalfheim (Thor: The Dark World).
  • 79 A.D. – Loki visits Pompeii before the volcano eruption (Loki Season 1).
  • 800 A.D. – The Choctaw Clay People are shown in Echo.
  • 1147 A.D. – Wenwu and the Ten Rings fight the Seljuk Empire (Shang-Chi).

While many of these moments are flashbacks or brief scenes, Eyes of Wakanda will fully explore its ancient setting in animated form, offering fans a fresh and deep dive into Wakanda’s early legacy.
