New rumors about Avengers: Doomsday are creating buzz, especially regarding Doctor Doom’s role, Loki’s importance, and how Kang is being replaced in the story.
According to The Cosmic Circus, Doctor Doom aims to prevent the Multiverse from collapsing by stopping incursions. Like Thanos, he sees himself as the hero and wants control over his timeline after “He Who Remains” silenced all universes.
While Kang was originally the villain in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the plot remains similar. The remaining heroes of different universes must fight to save their own, even if it means sacrificing others. Doom’s followers see him as their savior, drawing inspiration from the Secret Wars comics.
Loki plays a crucial role in the movie, described as the “MacGuffin”, with a race to capture him first. Loki is still at the center of the Multiverse, powering the infinite timelines.
Key heroes, including the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel, will appear, but the New Avengers won’t form until Secret Wars. The film will feature a Sanctum Santorum set being built in London.
Avengers: Doomsday will set the stage for the MCU’s post-Secret Wars era, where the Fantastic Four and X-Men are included, but with no full reboot. The movie is set to release in May 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in May 2027.
