Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated album Tha Carter VI will release tonight at midnight, marking a major return for the legendary rapper.
The album features high-profile names including Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Young Thug, Wyclef Jean, Bono, MGK, Andrea Bocelli, and more. Wayne’s son, Kameron, will also appear on the project.
This will be Wayne’s first solo album since 2020’s Funeral, and his first Carter series release since Tha Carter V in 2018. While the full tracklist is still unknown, fans are already excited about the confirmed collaborations.
To build hype, Wayne released a new commercial showing different stages of his career and teased a snippet of unreleased music. He said in a recent interview that the album focuses on creative pairings with artists he admires.
Wayne will celebrate the album’s release with his first-ever headlining concert at Madison Square Garden in New York tonight. He’ll also launch a North American tour starting July 30, with stops across major cities and special guests including Tyga, NoCap, and Hot Boys.
Fans are calling this album one of his most ambitious projects yet.
