Rapper Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has pleaded not guilty to four felony charges after an incident in Los Angeles on August 21, 2025.

Authorities say the rapper was found nearly naked on Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley. When confronted by police, he allegedly charged at officers, injuring three of them.

He faces three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. Following his arrest, Lil Nas X was hospitalized for a suspected overdose but was later transferred to Van Nuys Jail. He was released on August 25 after posting $75,000 bail.

As a condition of his release, he must attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings per week. His attorney, Christy O’Connor, said it is too early to determine whether he was under the influence at the time of the incident and described the event as “an absolute aberration in his life.”

If convicted, Lil Nas X could face up to five years in state prison. His father, Robert Stafford, stated that his son is focusing on getting help and denied that he is struggling with drug abuse.

The incident has drawn widespread media attention, highlighting both the legal challenges and the personal struggles faced by the artist.
