The Lenovo Legion Go S, the anticipated budget-friendly addition to Lenovo’s handheld gaming lineup, has had its full specifications leaked just weeks before CES 2025.
Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the original Legion Go, the Go S introduces some compromises to achieve its lower price point while maintaining solid gaming performance.
The leaked spec sheet reveals the following key features for the Legion Go S:
The Go S trades the Zen4/RDNA3 APU of the original Legion Go for a slightly older Zen3+/RDNA2 setup, reducing raw power but still delivering capable performance for modern gaming.
Lenovo appears to be targeting a broader audience with the Go S by offering two OS options: Windows and SteamOS. This dual-OS strategy could make the device more appealing to gamers who prefer flexibility in their gaming platforms.
Unlike its predecessor, the Go S will not feature detachable controllers. It also opts for a slightly smaller 8-inch 1920 x 1200 display compared to the original’s 8.8-inch screen with a higher resolution of 2560 x 1900.
These changes, along with the hardware adjustments, aim to keep the device affordable without sacrificing too much of the gaming experience.
While the Go S aims for affordability, Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 will cater to premium users with cutting-edge features, including an OLED panel.
In contrast, the Go S sticks to a traditional display but retains a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth gameplay.
With CES 2025 kicking off on January 7, Lenovo is expected to officially unveil both the Legion Go S and Legion Go 2.
These devices, along with their innovative features and competitive pricing, could set a new standard in the handheld gaming market.
