KFC is set to expand its presence in the UK and Ireland, offering a £20,000 finder’s fee to anyone who can help locate suitable sites for new restaurants.
The fast food giant already has over 1,000 locations in the UK and employs more than 30,000 people. Now, it plans to invest £1.5 billion over the next decade to open 500 more outlets and create 7,000 new jobs.
Of the investment, £466 million will go toward building new restaurants, especially in Ireland and the North West of England, where demand is highest.
KFC is inviting landlords and property experts to suggest potential locations and earn the £20,000 reward if their site is chosen.
Rob Swain, KFC UK and Ireland general manager, said the demand for their fried chicken has never been stronger. “We’ve been serving customers in the UK for 60 years now, but we’ve never seen such strong demand as we’re seeing today,” he said.
The UK fried chicken market is competitive, with brands like Wingstop, Popeyes, and Dave’s Hot Chicken also expanding quickly. Despite this, KFC remains the market leader and sees plenty of room for growth.
