After the Super Bowl and his Grammy wins, Kendrick Lamar is teaming up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again. This time, he’s contributing the title track for the upcoming movie “Captain America: Brave New World” starring Anthony Mackie.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mackie confirmed that Lamar has recorded a new song for the film, rumored to be titled “Brave New World.” Marvel has been using Lamar’s hit “N95” to promote the film, and his new track is expected to be available on all streaming platforms soon.
The New Orleans native Mackie was in the city to promote the film and attend Super Bowl LIX, where Kendrick Lamar headlined the halftime show. The Grammy-winning artist performed tracks like “Not Like Us,” “Humble,” and “All The Stars.”
Mackie shared that Lamar’s involvement in the film was a natural fit, highlighting the importance of the song for the success of “Captain America: Brave New World.” Lamar’s involvement adds an exciting new element to the superhero film, which marks Anthony Mackie’s first solo outing as Captain America.
“Captain America: Brave New World” will focus on Sam Wilson’s journey as the new Captain America. Unlike previous versions of the hero, Wilson doesn’t have the Super Soldier Serum. His strength lies in his leadership, strategy, and resilience as he navigates the challenges of being the new symbol of heroism.
The film will bring back familiar faces like Carl Lumbly and Danny Ramirez, with Ramirez’s character, Joaquín Torres, becoming the new Falcon.
These returning characters will explore themes of legacy, identity, and the cost of heroism, making the film an action-packed exploration of Wilson’s unique journey as Captain America.
With Marvel Studios promising fresh takes on the character, “Captain America: Brave New World” is set to shape major developments in the MCU’s future. The release of Lamar’s track will only add to the excitement surrounding the highly anticipated film.
