Justin Baldoni has claimed that Blake Lively “set him up for a trap” during filming of It Ends With Us, according to newly unsealed text messages.
The messages, reported by People, were sent by Baldoni to his former agent in December 2023. In them, he said he was having a “really bad week” and felt uncomfortable over discussions about filming intimate scenes.
Baldoni alleged that Lively requested a private meeting at her home and refused to use a body double for sex scenes. He claimed the situation made him feel uneasy and described it as a “giant clusterf**k.”
He also complained that Lively wanted to keep both actors fully clothed during a romantic moment, saying it did not match the original story. Baldoni added that he felt he was giving her “95 percent of what she wants for peace.”
The texts were sent days before a meeting involving Baldoni, Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and studio executives. That meeting focused on safety protections Lively had requested before filming continued.
Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni, which alleges sexual harassment and a hostile work environment, is still ongoing. Baldoni has denied the claims, and the next court hearing is scheduled for later this month.
