Justin Baldoni, director and star of It Ends With Us, is facing allegations of tension with co-star Blake Lively.
During an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, a leaked audio clip allegedly revealed Baldoni saying he was “sent to the basement” during the movie’s premiere because Lively didn’t want him near the cast.
The It Ends With Us premiere took place on August 6, 2024, at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City. Fans noticed Baldoni didn’t take any photos with Lively or other cast members, sparking rumors of a feud.
In the leaked audio, Baldoni described being removed from the event.
“I was sent to the basement with my friends and family for over an hour,” he said. “She didn’t want me anywhere near her or the rest of the cast.”
Despite the situation, Baldoni said he found joy in spending time with loved ones and emphasized his focus on creating meaningful art.
The controversy comes as both stars are involved in ongoing legal disputes.
Blake Lively has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. She also claims he retaliated against her during the film’s release. These accusations, filed in December, were published in The New York Times.
In response, Baldoni filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing the publication of defamation. His lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has also hinted at plans to sue Lively directly.
Lively’s legal team insists her claims are backed by “concrete facts” and allege Baldoni’s actions are part of a smear campaign.
“This is not a creative feud,” Lively’s lawyers said in a statement. “Sexual harassment and retaliation are illegal in every workplace and will be proven in court.”
Baldoni’s team has called for transparency, suggesting that all evidence, including text messages, be made public for scrutiny.
As the feud between Baldoni and Lively unfolds, the public remains divided. With legal battles intensifying, the situation continues to overshadow the release of It Ends With Us.
