Justin Baldoni has named Ryan Reynolds in his $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times, alleging the actor confronted him over accusations of “fat-shaming” Blake Lively during It Ends With Us production.
Baldoni claims the confrontation occurred at Reynolds and Lively’s New York penthouse and was so aggressive that he had to apologize repeatedly.
The controversy started when Baldoni asked a trainer about Lively’s weight before a lift sequence, which she later refused, using a stunt double instead.
Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni, accusing him and his PR team of smearing her reputation, including body-shaming.
Baldoni denies the allegations and claims the Times report distorted the facts. Lively’s representatives stand by her claims, while The New York Times defended its reporting.
Lively’s co-stars, including Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate, have expressed support for her, and Colleen Hoover praised her as “honest and kind.”
Reynolds has not commented on the allegations, and Baldoni’s wife, Emily, has remained silent. The legal battle continues to unfold.
