Jungkook’s “Seven” Becomes First BTS Solo Daesang Winner

The Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA) 2025 has officially upgraded its Song of the Year category to a Daesang (Grand Prize), granting BTS member Jungkook his first solo Daesang for his hit single “Seven” featuring Latto.

Although Jungkook won Song of the Year at ASEA in 2024, it was not initially classified as a Daesang. ASEA’s decision to elevate the award this year means that “Seven” now counts as a Grand Prize victory, making Jungkook the first BTS member to earn a solo Daesang.

Fans immediately spotted the change on Jungkook’s Wikipedia page and took to social media to celebrate. Comments poured in, praising what they called a “well-deserved recognition” and celebrating the milestone amid Jungkook’s ongoing military service. One fan wrote, “Finally, Jungkook got his Daesang for ‘Seven’—it’s about time!”

Jungkook enlisted in the South Korean military on December 12, 2023, and is due for discharge on June 11, 2025. Despite his service, his music continues to break records and earn accolades worldwide.

The inaugural ASEA in 2024 honored both established stars and rising artists in Yokohama, Japan. That year, Stray Kids won Daesang for Album of the Year, while Jungkook took home Song of the Year for “Seven.” Now, with the category’s promotion, “Seven” sits among Jungkook’s growing list of achievements as his first solo Grand Prize.

Fans and industry observers alike view this update as a significant milestone in Jungkook’s solo career and a moment of pride for the entire BTS ARMY community.
