The newest season of The Traitors has introduced a twist: a secret Traitor whose identity is unknown even to the other players. The show has already captured massive attention, with 6.4 million overnight viewers and a peak of 7 million, marking the biggest debut in the series’ history.

Claudia, the host, picked three traitors—Stephen, Rachel, and Hugo—but a fourth, more secretive Traitor is manipulating the game from above. This hidden role carries the responsibility of influencing which players are targeted each night, adding tension and intrigue.

Body language expert Darren Stanton believes Judy is the likely secret Traitor.

Speaking exclusively to LADbible on behalf of OLBG, Stanton noted several behavioral cues that raised his suspicions:

  • Shift in baseline behavior: Judy’s breathing became faster, and her movements increased, signs of stress or mental load.
  • Bilateral shoulder shrugs: Typically indicating uncertainty or indifference, in Judy’s case they appeared defensive, suggesting pressure.
  • Hand-to-mouth gestures: Commonly linked to self-soothing, hinting at hidden anxiety.

“Taken together, these behavioral changes initially drew my suspicion toward her as the most likely secret Traitor,” Stanton said.

Fans are noticing clues too.

  • Some viewers compared Judy’s head-turn when Claudia said “Traitors” to a similar move made by Linda in season 3, jokingly dubbing it “doing a Linda.”
  • Others noted that the show’s editing seemed to focus heavily on Judy, leading to speculation about her role.
  • Her daughter, Roxy, may have unintentionally revealed their connection during a challenge by yelling, “Stop, Mum, stop,” adding another layer to fan theories.

If Judy is the secret Traitor, she faces the challenge of hiding both her role and her relationship with Roxy, which keen viewers may have already noticed.

The Traitors returns tonight, January 2, at 8pm on BBC One.
