South Korean singer Jin appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, where he performed a new song and talked about reconnecting with BTS. The K-pop group, including J-Hope, Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, plans to reunite after completing their military service.
Jin said, “It was great to be alone, but when they come back, since they worked very hard, I’m going to honor them and give them great respect.” He called the members his “lifesavers” and promised to show his appreciation.
Jin recently released a solo album, Happy, in November and an EP called Echo last Friday. He explained that Happy was made soon after his military service when he was just beginning to explore his emotions, while Echo better captures his feelings now.
On the show, Jin performed the song “Don’t Say You Love Me.” He described the song as bittersweet, about the struggle of leaving someone you love even when you know it’s time to go. The stage was set like a giant white bed with a city view, and Jin wore a denim jacket with a rhinestone collar.
Jin will start a solo tour in South Korea on June 28. He joked about his performance, saying fans can expect his “not so bad” vocals and a close-up of his “handsome face.”
Fans can look forward to more energetic songs, which Jin created with the tour in mind.
