Israel Shifts Focus Back to Gaza After US-Brokered Iran Ceasefire

Israel announced it will now concentrate on Gaza following a ceasefire with Iran that ended 12 days of intense fighting. The truce, brokered by former US President Donald Trump, took effect on June 24, 2025.

Ceasefire Ends Iran Conflict

The Israeli military confirmed the ceasefire and said it achieved its main goals against Iran. Israel claims it neutralized Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile threats, gained control of Iranian airspace, and hit key military targets.

Israeli officials called the outcome a “tremendous victory” over Iran. The ceasefire was negotiated overnight by Trump’s team and brought an immediate halt to hostilities.

Fighting Continued Until Final Moments

Despite the ceasefire agreement, both sides kept fighting until the truce officially began. Iran launched missile attacks on Israel in the final hours, causing casualties and forcing civilians into bomb shelters.

Both countries warned they would respond if the other side breaks the ceasefire agreement.

Gaza Remains Key Priority

With the Iran conflict paused, Israel is returning its attention to Gaza. Hamas, which Iran supports, still holds about 50 hostages taken during previous attacks.

Families of the hostages are urging Israel to focus on getting their loved ones back. They want renewed efforts to end the war in Gaza and secure the hostages’ release.

Qatar is reportedly helping to restart indirect talks between Israel and Hamas. These negotiations could lead to prisoner exchanges or other agreements.

Ongoing Challenges

The ceasefire with Iran gives Israel a chance to address the continuing crisis in Gaza. However, tensions remain high in the region, and both conflicts could flare up again.

The shift in focus shows how Israel must handle multiple security threats at the same time. While the Iran ceasefire provides temporary relief, the Gaza situation requires immediate attention.
