BTS member SUGA has officially finished his public service duties as part of South Korea’s mandatory military enlistment. His discharge date is set for June 21, but reports say he completed his final duties on June 18.
The early completion has led to speculation among BTS fans, also known as ARMY, about whether SUGA has been discharged early. However, sources confirm that SUGA is simply using his remaining vacation days. He does not need to return to his workplace before his official discharge. This is standard procedure for public service workers in South Korea and does not mean he received any special treatment.
SUGA, whose real name is Min Yoongi, started his alternative military service on September 22, 2023. He completed basic training at the start of his enlistment.
BigHit Music has not yet shared if SUGA will appear in public for his official discharge, as other BTS members did after their service.
Meanwhile, fans in Seoul are preparing a special event to welcome him. The project will take place outside HYBE’s main building on June 21 and 22. Fans are hopeful that this marks the long-awaited full reunion of all seven BTS members.
For now, ARMYs are waiting for an official update about whether SUGA will join the public celebrations.
