Iranian Drone Attack At Kuwait International Airport

A drone widely attributed to Iran struck Kuwait International Airport on Saturday, according to Kuwait’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation. Several airport employees suffered minor injuries, and part of a passenger terminal was damaged.

Kuwaiti officials said emergency procedures were activated immediately. Spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi told Kuwait News Agency that the situation was under control and passenger safety was the priority.

Authorities did not officially name Iran at first. However, outlets including BBC, Al Arabiya and Ynet reported the drone was Iranian, linking it to wider retaliation across the Gulf.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed strikes on U.S. bases in Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE. Explosions were reported in several cities. Kuwait’s Ali Al-Salem Air Base was also reportedly targeted.

Videos shared on X showed smoke rising near the airport. Reports said Terminal 1 was hit. No deaths were confirmed, but flights were disrupted and airspace closures spread across the region.

Kuwait condemned the attack as a violation of its sovereignty. Gulf states called for de-escalation. Iran described its actions as retaliation for earlier strikes on its leadership.

There is no independent verification yet of the full damage or casualty figures. The situation remains tense as flight operations face delays and cancellations.
