Apple is expected to release its first foldable iPhone, known as the iPhone Fold, in 2026, according to recent leaks. The device will reportedly feature a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen.

The iPhone Fold is tipped to be powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, made with advanced 2nm technology. It may come with 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB.

For cameras, the phone could have two 48MP lenses: a wide-angle primary camera and an ultra-wide secondary camera. Notably, it might be the first Apple device to use the company’s own C2 baseband modem for 5G connectivity.

The foldable iPhone is expected to be expensive, with a price estimated between $1,800 and $2,000. This is slightly lower than initial predictions of up to $2,400, thanks to cost-cutting efforts by Apple.

The device will likely be about 9 to 9.5mm thick when folded, and 4.5 to 4.8mm when unfolded. The internal OLED screen is expected to be supplied mainly by Samsung Display, with LG Display providing a smaller share.

Apple’s manufacturing partners will include Foxconn as the primary assembler, supported by Luxshare. Other key components like the titanium casing and metal hinge will come from Lens Technology and Amphenol.

Industry experts believe the launch of the iPhone Fold will boost the foldable device market, encouraging growth in smartphones, tablets, and notebooks with folding displays.
