Apple is gearing up for the release of a new iPhone model, which will debut soon. The device, codenamed Roma, is expected to be unveiled at an Apple event in spring 2025. While the event may occur in March, it could follow last year’s schedule and take place in May.
The iPhone Roma is likely a modern revamp of the iPhone SE, which Apple has not refreshed in years. Industry insider Mark Gurman has been predicting an early 2025 release for the iPhone SE 4, also referred to as the iPhone 16E. This new iPhone will update Apple’s budget model with a more modern design.
The iPhone Roma will use the iPhone 14’s body, but it will come with an edge-to-edge screen and a notch at the top, removing the home button.
The device will be equipped with 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, the company’s latest AI technology. This update will give the iPhone 16E more power than its predecessors.
Mass production of the iPhone 16E is set to begin soon, indicating that the device has passed the design and testing stages.
While the price may increase slightly, the iPhone 16E is expected to sell well due to the long wait for a new budget iPhone model.
In addition to the Roma, Apple is reportedly working on another new iPhone model, the iPhone 17 Air.
This will be a super slim phone with less powerful specs, aimed at users who prioritize aesthetics. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the Plus models, which have not sold as well as Apple had hoped.
Despite the anticipation for the iPhone 17 Air, it seems the iPhone Roma (16E) will be the main focus for 2025.
If the price remains reasonable, the iPhone 16E is expected to become one of the best phones to buy in 2025.
