iOS 26 Battery Feature Uses AI, Works Only on These iPhones

iOS 26 Battery Features

Apple’s upcoming iOS 26 introduces a new battery-saving feature called Adaptive Power Mode. This mode helps extend battery life by making small adjustments, such as lowering the screen brightness or allowing some tasks to take longer.

However, Adaptive Power Mode is only available on certain iPhone models. It requires Apple’s advanced AI technology, so it works only on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models, including the iPhone 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max.

Though iOS 26 supports iPhone 11 and newer, Adaptive Power Mode will not be available on the iPhone 14 Pro or older models.

The feature is turned off by default but can be enabled anytime in the Settings app under Battery → Power Mode.

This new mode could be especially helpful for the rumored iPhone 17 Air, which may have a thin design limiting battery size. Apple may also release a special battery case for the iPhone 17 Air.

Currently, iOS 26 is in beta and is expected to launch officially in September 2025.
