Apple is expected to drop support for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max with the release of iOS 19, according to a reliable source on social media platform X.
These three models use the A12 Bionic chip, and iOS 19 will likely mark the end of software support for that chip. All other iPhones currently running iOS 18 are expected to receive the new update.
✅ iPhones Expected to Support iOS 19:
- iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 16e
- iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max

While these devices will receive iOS 19, some advanced features may be limited to newer models like the iPhone 15 Pro and the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup. For example, iOS 18’s Apple Intelligence features only work on devices with the A17 Pro chip or newer.
On the iPad side, iPadOS 19 will reportedly drop support for the 7th-generation iPad, which runs on the A10 Fusion chip. However, iPads with the A12 Bionic, like the iPad mini 5, are expected to remain compatible.
Apple will officially announce iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 during its WWDC keynote on Monday, June 9.
