HYBE Stock Climbs as BTS Nears Full Return From Military Service

BTS is officially entering the final stretch of their military hiatus, with four members — RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — set to be discharged this week. RM and V will complete their service on June 10, followed by Jimin and Jungkook on June 11.

All four enlisted together in December 2023. RM served in the 15th Infantry Division military band, V in the 2nd Corps Special Duty Team, and both Jimin and Jungkook served in the 5th Infantry Division.

With SUGA’s discharge scheduled for June 21, BTS will soon be a fully civilian group again for the first time since their enlistments began. Jin, the eldest, completed his military service last year, while J-Hope was discharged in October 2024 and has been actively pursuing his solo career.

Fans worldwide are thrilled, but BigHit Music has requested fans not to gather at discharge sites, citing safety concerns due to limited space. Instead, the members plan to greet fans through live broadcasts on their respective discharge days.

This year’s BTS FESTA celebration (June 13–14) will be especially meaningful, marking the 12th anniversary of BTS’s debut. KINTEX in Goyang will host special exhibitions with 20 themed booths, highlighting BTS’s journey with trophy displays, personal member items, and more.

Additionally, J-Hope’s ‘Hope on the Stage’ stadium concert will run at Goyang Sports Complex on the same dates, expected to feature appearances from the newly discharged members.

HYBE’s stock has surged amid BTS’s return, closing at 284,500 KRW on June 5, close to its 1-year high. Despite recent controversy involving HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk over alleged IPO misconduct, investor confidence remains strong, thanks to BTS’s imminent return.

As for BTS’s musical future, critics say the group may need time to recalibrate their artistic direction. While solo projects like Jin’s “The Astronaut” and RM’s “Right Place, Wrong Person” have been successful, fans and insiders alike believe BTS may need to rediscover the raw energy of their early years for a powerful comeback.

With anticipation building, 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal years in BTS’s history.
