Huawei Plans Pura X2 Launch, Aims to Challenge Foldable iPad

Huawei is preparing to launch a new version of its innovative foldable phone, the Pura X2, following the success of the original Pura X. The first Pura X introduced a new form factor, often called a “widescreen foldable smartphone,” which has been well received by the market.

The Pura X2 is expected to be part of Huawei’s 2026 lineup. It will follow more traditional foldable phones like the Mate X6, Huawei’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7. The Mate X7, rumored to be a major upgrade, may even come with a Pro model.

Meanwhile, Huawei plans to release a second-generation Mate XT tri-fold device with small improvements. After that, a larger “XL” foldable device could arrive, which may use the same technology as the Pura X series.

This bigger foldable device, possibly called a “foldable Pad,” might compete directly with Apple’s upcoming foldable iPad, offering a fresh alternative for consumers looking for new screen technology.

Huawei is clearly pushing forward in the foldable device market with multiple new models, aiming to stay ahead of rivals.
