Apple Notes on iOS 18 has a handy new feature that lets you solve equations directly within the app—no need for a separate calculator.

This math result feature transforms how you handle equations during note-taking, making it easier and more efficient for everyday tasks.

To enable automatic math results in Notes, follow these steps:

  1. Open Apple Notes and create a new note or open an existing one.
  2. Type a math equation, such as 5+3. (The math result option will appear after entering an equation.)
  3. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the toolbar and go to the Math Results settings.
  4. You can choose between two options:
    • Suggest Results: After the equation, hit the space bar to insert the result manually.
    • Insert Results: The answer will automatically appear in your note.

This feature makes it quick to perform simple calculations without leaving Notes, perfect for students, professionals, or anyone needing a fast solution while jotting down notes or organizing tasks. It’s a great way to boost productivity and streamline everyday calculations.
