Hillary Clinton has said she would nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he succeeds in ending the war in Ukraine. Speaking in a recent interview, the former U.S. secretary of state described stopping the conflict as a “great act for peace.”

Clinton’s remarks come despite her long history of political rivalry and criticism toward the former president. She said the scale of suffering caused by the war makes a peaceful resolution more important than personal or political differences.

The conflict in Ukraine has continued for several years, claiming thousands of lives and displacing millions. World leaders have been seeking ways to bring the fighting to an end.

According to prediction market platform Kalshi, Trump currently has a 12% chance of winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Clinton said she would back his nomination if he played a decisive role in securing peace.
