Fans eagerly awaiting new footage of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach might be left disappointed after the latest PlayStation State of Play event.
Despite expectations and recent hints, the highly anticipated trailer for the sequel to Death Stranding did not make an appearance.
However, director Hideo Kojima has given us some insight into why, suggesting that the trailer is still in the works.
Kojima Teases Progress on the Trailer
Just days before the State of Play, Death Stranding 2 received a rating in South Korea, sparking speculation about new content.
Kojima also posted a cryptic tweet showing a 10-second clip from the game, teasing fans with a glimpse of what seemed to be a longer version of footage from the previous trailer, while mentioning that he was working on main sound mixing in London.

Despite these teases, the trailer wasn’t ready for the State of Play showcase. In fact, Kojima tweeted again during the event, posting pictures of his editing software with the simple caption “Editing,” indicating that the trailer was still a work in progress when the showcase aired.
When Will the Trailer Be Ready?
It looks like we won’t be seeing the trailer anytime soon. However, Kojima’s SXSW panel on March 9 in Texas might offer the perfect opportunity to unveil more details about Death Stranding 2.
It’s likely that the director is preparing something special for the event, and fans can expect more in-depth information and potentially the official trailer to be revealed at that time.
As the wait continues, Death Stranding 2 remains one of the most eagerly awaited games, and with Kojima’s creative vision, the final reveal is sure to be worth the anticipation.
