Hideo Kojima’s upcoming PlayStation 6 game, Physint, is still a long way from release, with the acclaimed game developer estimating a 5 to 6-year development timeline. This means fans should not expect to see the game until the 2030s, roughly midway through the PS6’s lifecycle.

Kojima, known for his groundbreaking storytelling and innovative gameplay, is currently focused on finishing Death Stranding 2, which is scheduled for release on June 26th for PS5. Afterward, he plans to dedicate himself fully to Physint.

Physint was conceived following a near-death experience Kojima had during the COVID pandemic. He aimed to create a spiritual successor to his iconic Metal Gear Solid series, blending action-stealth gameplay with cinematic storytelling.

Kojima described Physint as an ambitious project that will be both a video game and a movie, potentially featuring big Hollywood actors and live-action elements, similar to Remedy’s Quantum Break.

In a recent interview, Kojima also expressed interest in eventually directing films but emphasized he wants to complete his current projects first.

While details on Physint’s gameplay and story remain under wraps, Kojima’s reputation assures fans that it will be a unique and revolutionary experience unlike anything seen before in gaming.

For now, gamers can look forward to Death Stranding 2 later this month, while keeping an eye on Kojima’s long-term vision for Physint in the next decade.
