HBO Max will expand its DC lineup in June 2025 by adding eight new superhero titles, most of which spotlight Superman. The update comes as part of a push ahead of the release of James Gunn’s Superman movie, scheduled for July 11, 2025.
All but one of the new titles will become available on June 1, with the remaining release arriving later in the month.
The list includes a mix of animated films and TV content, many exploring different versions and storylines of the Man of Steel.
Here are the new DC projects coming to HBO Max:
Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons (2022) – Follows Jon Kent and Damian Wayne as they team up with Superman and Batman to fight mind-controlled heroes.
Reign of the Supermen (2019) – A sequel to The Death of Superman, focusing on several new Supermen appearing in Metropolis after Superman’s death.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2020) – A story about Clark Kent’s early days as a hero before being called Superman.
Superman: Red Son (2020) – A reimagining of Superman’s origin, placing him in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas.
Superman: Unbound (2013) – Superman faces off against Braniac in a story adapted from the Superman: Brainiac comic arc.
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009) – Batman and Superman take on President Lex Luthor during a national crisis.
The Death of Superman (2018) – Tells the story of Superman’s fatal battle with Doomsday, leading to the events of Reign of the Supermen.
Teen Titans Go!, Season 9B – The second half of Season 9 will premiere on June 20, the only title with a later release date.
The release of these Superman-focused projects appears to be a strategic move ahead of the highly anticipated theatrical launch of Superman in July.
