Netflix Tudum 2025 kicked off in high energy as Indian rapper Hanumankind opened the global event with his hit song “Run It Up.” Fans at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and around the world watched as he performed live, backed by Squid Game’s iconic pink guards.
Hanumankind, whose real name is Sooraj Cherukat, brought the crowd to life before the reveal of Squid Game Season 3’s trailer. This wasn’t his first time working with Netflix — he had previously co-written “The Game Don’t Stop“ for Squid Game Season 2.
Netflix India shared the performance online, captioning it: “Red light, green light, Hanumankind just opened #TUDUM!”
In a surprise moment, one of the masked guards removed their helmet to reveal host Sofia Carson, dressed in full Squid Game gear, drawing cheers from the audience.
The night’s only other performer was Lady Gaga, who also made headlines by appearing as a new cast member in Wednesday Season 2, playing Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary teacher at Nevermore Academy.
Fans praised Hanumankind online, calling the moment “proud” and “surreal.” One user wrote, “I’m not into hip-hop but watching Indians go global feels unreal.”
From Coachella to Netflix Tudum, Hanumankind continues to represent Indian music on the world stage. His explosive performance marked a powerful start to a night full of new trailers and big announcements.
