Hanhart, the German watchmaker known for its aviation timepieces, has reissued the 415 ES, a unique pilot’s chronograph from the mid-1960s.
The original 415 ES made history with several firsts, including the introduction of Hanhart’s winged logo and a bidirectional elapsed-time bezel. The new version faithfully recreates these features with some modern updates to improve functionality and durability.
The 415 ES features a 39mm stainless steel case and is powered by the Swiss-made Sellita SW510 M hand-wound chronograph movement. It includes a tachymetric scale, a bicompax layout, and a distinctive red 1/100ths scale for measuring industrial minutes—a unique feature carried over from the 1960s model.
The watch’s retro dial is a near-perfect reproduction, with updates such as a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel insert and Super-LumiNova X1 lume for enhanced visibility.
While the design stays true to its roots, Hanhart made some modern upgrades, including a sapphire crystal with AR coating, improved water resistance of 100m, and shockproof and anti-magnetic protection.
The leather strap features quick-release spring bars and an Alcantara lining for added comfort and style.
The 415 ES is priced at 2,390 € on Hanhart’s website, with U.S. buyers able to preorder it for $2,680 through WatchBuys.
With its blend of classic design and contemporary features, the 415 ES is a standout offering in Hanhart’s impressive 2024 lineup.
