Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited dream project, Frankenstein, has finally unveiled its first official teaser at Netflix Tudum 2025.
The two-minute teaser showcases the film’s haunting gothic visuals and gives us a glimpse of both Victor Frankenstein (played by Oscar Isaac) and his tragic creation—the Monster.
Set in a bleak and moody 19th-century Eastern Europe, the teaser is filled with del Toro’s signature visual style: dark, atmospheric, and emotionally charged.
The short clip doesn’t give away much of the plot but sets the tone for what promises to be a deep, terrifying, and philosophical adaptation of Mary Shelley’s iconic novel.
Oscar Isaac, who plays the obsessed scientist, spoke at the event about the emotional weight of the role, saying, “Playing Victor Frankenstein in a Guillermo del Toro film has been the experience of a lifetime.” Del Toro himself revealed he has been dreaming of making this film for 25 years, ever since his fascination with classic monsters began.
While the exact release date is still under wraps, Netflix confirmed Frankenstein will arrive in November 2025. As anticipation builds, fans can expect a dark reimagining of the tale that explores not just horror, but the blurred line between man, monster, and morality.
