With the year winding down, Rockstar Games has shown no signs of releasing a second GTA 6 trailer anytime soon.
However, a passionate group of fans believes otherwise, suggesting December 27 as the potential date for the next big reveal.
The latest theory stems from a peculiar set of “clues” that fans claim to have uncovered. It began when a
Rockstar developer shared a photo containing a Rockstar-branded jumper with GTA 6 colors and other memorabilia.
Observant fans spotted what they interpreted as Roman numerals for “VI” formed by cat hair on the jumper.
Adding fuel to the fire, a phone number visible in the image was traced to a Florida auto shop named “27 Auto Sales.” The number 27 then became the focal point of various connections:
The theory took an even wilder turn with the introduction of the “moon theory.” According to this idea, Rockstar uses lunar phases to time its trailer releases.
The first GTA 6 trailer debuted during a Waning Gibbous moon phase on December 1, 2023. Fans speculated that the second trailer would follow a similar pattern, initially pointing to December 20, 2024.
When that date passed without a trailer, attention shifted to December 27, the next date associated with the Waning Gibbous phase.
Some have even extended the speculation to January 14, 2025, the next occurrence of this lunar phase.
While the theories are creative, they remain speculative at best. Rockstar Games has historically maintained a tight-lipped approach to its major releases, often dropping updates without warning.
The studio is likely on holiday break, making the possibility of a trailer this week extremely slim.
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 is in development, with a release expected before the end of 2025.
The first trailer, released on December 5, 2023, gave fans a glimpse of the game’s setting and characters but left many questions unanswered.
For now, fans eagerly await official updates, but as history has shown, Rockstar operates on its own timeline.
