Rumors of another Grand Theft Auto VI delay spread quickly this week. Fans feared Rockstar Games had pushed the launch again.
Industry insiders have since played down those concerns. Multiple sources say the game remains on track for November 19, 2026.
The confusion began after Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier said GTA 6 was not yet “content complete.” Some took this as a warning sign. Schreier later clarified that his words were misread.
He explained that large AAA games stay in heavy development late into production. Schreier added that the November 2026 window now feels more realistic than past targets.

At the same time, Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming reinforced his reporting. He said GTA 6 has been “content-ready” for months. The current focus is polishing and bug fixes.
Rockstar’s history supports that approach. Red Dead Redemption 2 was still recording motion capture weeks before launch. Major visual features were refined very late.
Compared to that cycle, GTA 6 appears ahead of schedule. Being content-ready nearly a year out suggests progress, not trouble.
With around 313 days to go, hype continues to build. For now, insiders agree November 19, 2026 remains the date to watch.
