Rockstar Games has launched GTA 5 Enhanced Edition for PC, offering improved graphics and features more than a decade after the original release.
The game had already been available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, raising anticipation among PC gamers. On its first day on Steam, the game reached over 187,000 concurrent players, thanks to a free upgrade for existing owners.
However, the reception has been mixed. Only 53% of reviews on Steam are positive, labeling the game as ‘Mixed’. Players have reported technical issues, poor performance, and minor graphical upgrades that fail to justify the enhanced tag. Many also faced account migration problems, making the initial experience frustrating.
Another major disappointment is the lack of updates on the highly anticipated GTA 6, which has left fans questioning Rockstar’s priorities. The enhanced version is also capped at 120 FPS, while the original GTA V Legacy had no such limit.
Alongside the new version, Rockstar introduced GTA+ on Steam, a subscription service offering exclusive rewards for GTA Online and access to classic Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, and Bully: Scholarship Edition.
